Students who would like to develop a strong art portfolio are required to complete prerequisite art classes before being accepted into the AP Art Program, which prepares them for college-level portfolio work. One of the most essential practices in this process is figure drawing. Through consistent practice, students learn to understand and apply the fundamentals of line, shape, and form by drawing from real life. This practice not only strengthens technical skills but also encourages personal expression. Over time, figure drawing becomes a foundational element in students’ artistic development and serves as an important area of investigation, contributing to the depth and breadth of their overall portfolio.

Tanvi attended the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) 2026 Pre-College five-week art program, where she immersed herself in the study of figure drawing and abstract painting. During the program, she explored oil painting through live figure drawing sessions, as well as experimental approaches to composition, color, and expression in her painting classes.
Her artistic journey has been nurtured for many years at JulieArt, where she has developed a strong foundation in figure drawing and cultivated her own distinctive artistic voice. Through consistent practice, exploration, and dedication, Tanvi has built an extensive portfolio that reflects both her technical growth and her evolving personal style.
Her experience at RISD further expanded her artistic perspective and strengthened her confidence as a young artist. She continues to paint, experiment, and develop her body of work, bringing curiosity, individuality, and a deep appreciation for the human form into her ongoing artistic practice.
