Clothed Figure Drawing & Illustration

Students who are serious about developing a strong art portfolio are required to complete prerequisite art classes before being accepted into the AP Art Program, which prepares them for college-level portfolio work. One of the most essential practices in this process is figure drawing. Through consistent practice, students learn to understand and apply the fundamentals of line, shape, and form by drawing from real life. This practice not only strengthens technical skills but also encourages personal expression. Over time, figure drawing becomes a foundational element in students’ artistic development and serves as an important area of investigation, contributing to the depth and breadth of their overall portfolio.
